Workshop Overview

This program is a ten week program running in Term 4 starting the 17th October running through to 19th December.

At Thrive we believe that art is a creative tool to develop resilience and connect with others. Building Better Art programs teach and support children’s wellbeing.

Each art project is designed to be made over a course of 1-2 weeks. The aim of each project is to encourage and support your child to create something that they can be proud of. Your child will be taught art skills and processes as well as social emotional skills that will foster their resilience and belief in themselves.

At Thrive we provide a safe, fun and relaxed space for children to create and experiment. When children make a mistake when they are drawing or creating they may experience feelings such as frustration and disappointment. At Thrive we allow the children to experience these feelings and empathise with them and regard these times as teachable moments. The children will be emotionally coached to learn strategies for coping with frustration and other emotions that may arise and will be encouraged to keep on persisting even when they might find things hard. By coaching them through such situations and encouraging them to persist and work through challenges they will feel a sense of pride in themselves.

Thrive will support your child on their artistic journey and to celebrate their successes along the way.
