Workshop Overview

This one day beginning facilitation skills workshop is designed for professionals who want to learn the fundamental roles, responsibilities and skills of facilitation when working with groups. The course teaches tools and techniques and gives you opportunity to practice and master some of these skills in a safe, creative and relaxed atmosphere. This course will cover how to:

  • Engage group members and maximize participation in the process
  • Understand group dynamics and create a safe, comfortable space for group members
  • Understand and reflect on adult learning principles and learning styles
  •  Recognise and work with challenging behaviours  and situations and use tools and strategies to intervene and keep group members on track
  • Design and facilitate a meeting from ‘agenda to action’
  • Design a structured session plan

Who should attend?

  • If you have no to limited experience of group facilitation and need to develop your skills, confidence and repertoire of tools and techniques to improve your effectiveness then this course is for you!
  • If you are in a job that requires you to facilitate teams and groups or involved in facilitating meetings, training events, development programmes, and facilitating staff then this course is for you.
